Stock nternals are good to about 400 hp. The transmission is where you need to be careful, as the k series trans is fragile at those power levels. Check out the build in my sig. I added a 6th gear and a quaife lsd to a base rsx trans. Let me have a cruising gear for the highway and longer gears in the lower ones.
Heres the differences. The TSX K24A2 has the true i-VTEC head with a compression in the 10's. The K24A4 Accord/Element motor comes with the e-VTEC head. Like you said you would just need to swap the head with either the K20 i-VTEC or K24A2 i-VTEC head. Your problem is that the K24A4 is not compatable with the true i-VTEC head unless you change
